112 now works as unified emergency number across India. English widely understood in cities.
Private hospital chains (Apollo, Fortis, Max) offer world-class care at a fraction of Western prices.
Jio and Airtel offer cheap data plans. Registration may take a day to activate.

Emergency response times vary greatly. Private services are faster where available.
South Africa has excellent private hospitals. Morocco has good care in major cities.
Coverage in rural areas can be poor. Carry a power bank and keep your phone charged.

911 is universal for all emergencies. Text-to-911 available in many US areas.
Excellent healthcare but VERY expensive without insurance (US). Always carry travel insurance.
Excellent cell coverage in populated areas. Rural/wilderness may have no signal.
