Panoramica del transito per regione
🌴Southeast Asia
Thailand · Indonesia · Vietnam · Malaysia · Philippines · Singapore
Rideshare apps (Grab, Gojek) are king in Southeast Asia — often safer and cheaper than taxis. Download them before you land.
Cash is still important for local transport. ATMs at airports usually have decent rates but watch for foreign transaction fees.
Only use official taxis or rideshare apps. Avoid "helpers" at arrivals offering rides — common scam in the region.
🏰Europe
Portugal · Spain · Germany · Hungary · Croatia · Greece · United Kingdom
European airports usually have excellent rail/metro connections to city centers. These are almost always the best option.
Contactless payments accepted on most European transit systems. Apple Pay and Google Pay work on metros in most capitals.
European airports and transit are generally very safe. Main risk is pickpockets on crowded trains and metros.
🌮Latin America
Mexico · Colombia · Argentina
Always use authorized/prepaid taxis at Latin American airports — buy a ticket at the official counter inside the terminal.
Uber/DiDi work in most cities but may be in a legal gray area. Drivers may ask you to sit in front to look like a friend.
Never accept rides from people approaching you in arrivals. Use official transport only and keep valuables secure.
🗼East Asia
Japan · South Korea · Taiwan
East Asian airports have world-class rail connections. Get a transit IC card at the airport for seamless travel.
IC cards (Suica, T-money, EasyCard) work everywhere — trains, buses, convenience stores, vending machines.
East Asian airports and transit systems are among the safest in the world. Scams are extremely rare.
🕌Middle East & Caucasus
Turkey · Georgia · UAE
Modern metros in Istanbul and Dubai offer excellent airport connections. Georgia is budget-friendly with very cheap taxi apps.
Get local transit cards (Istanbulkart, NOL) at airport stations — they save money and cover all public transport.
Use official taxis and rideshare apps. Tbilisi is very safe; in Istanbul, stick to official transport to avoid overcharging.
🛕South Asia
India
Indian airports have improved significantly. Prepaid taxi counters in arrivals are the safest option for first-timers.
Indian SIM cards require passport + photo + up to 24h activation time. Consider buying an eSIM before arrival.
Use prepaid taxis or Ola/Uber — never negotiate with drivers at arrivals. Keep change handy as drivers may claim no change.
🌍Africa
South Africa
Uber and Bolt dominate airport transport in major South African cities. They are safe, metered, and well-regulated.
South African Rands (ZAR) can be withdrawn at airport ATMs. Contactless payments widely accepted in Cape Town.
Stick to rideshare apps or official metered taxis. Avoid walking between terminals at night in smaller airports.
🗽North America & Oceania
USA · Canada · Australia
Rail connections exist at major airports (JFK AirTrain, UP Express, Airport Link). Rideshare is everywhere.
Contactless payments work on most transit systems. Tap credit/debit cards directly on readers — no transit card needed in many cities.
All airports are well-regulated. Both taxis and rideshare are safe and official. Tip taxi drivers 15–20% in North America.
